Knowledge is Power. So is Cash.
We teach kids how to spend their money. But that won’t help them, if they don’t have money to spend.
Proper Elevation’s PEACE Program is designed to serve the communities who need help the most. That means we can’t assume our students have access to the basic resources they need to put their best foot forward every day — let alone practice the budgeting and investing habits we aim to teach them.
That’s why we commit to providing direct material assistance, alongside our comprehensive skills-based education.
We don’t just give our students the skills they need to thrive. We give them the resources they need to grow.

The PEACE Program combines classroom education with hands-on experience.
Our homework assignments include readings and worksheets like any other educational program, but they also include opportunities for kids to get practice spending and budgeting real money on essential supplies for their families — and on things they want for themselves, too.
Thrive In School. Excel At Home.
After-school lessons aimed at creating a positive mindset.
Beyond basic financial concepts like credit and savings, taxes and investment, our classes teach goal-setting, active visualization, and lifestyle planning. We empower all of our students to dream high — and reach higher.
Take-home assignments built to grow sustainable habits.
Our students learn to set lifestyle goals, develop financial plans, create budgets, and follow through on them. They’re motivated to take on self-directed research projects, learning how to learn on their own. And they’re given enough practice cash each month to make a meaningful impact on their family’s finances, teaching them how good it feels to make a difference.
Our Curriculum
-
Our curriculum begins with active visualization. We invite our students to imagine for themselves the life they actually want to live: big or small, cozy, creative, adventurous, or ambitious.
In this stage of our program, students are encouraged to investigate their own interests, skills, and abilities. The classroom instruction and take-home work focus on exploring the options available to people today, empowering students to find their own vision for their own futures. -
In the second stage of our curriculum, we teach kids to plan for success. In this phase, students are taught basic budgeting techniques, and introduced to fundamental financial concepts like credit and debt, interest and investments.
Through their take-home assignments, students will begin to set and follow their own financial plans, using funds dispersed to them through our program. Regular counseling sessions with our teachers and advisors will help students keep their progress in line with their values and their goals. -
Once students have been introduced to the basics of financial planning, further classes will introduce more complex financial topics and tools.
In this stage, students will learn tried and tested financial optimization techniques, to help them maximize the impact of their savings over time — while being taught practical life skills like paying taxes, or understanding student loans.
